Pursuing higher education can do so much for a person. Aside from creating several employment opportunities through a college degree, the experience of going to college can connect you to new and interesting people and it can teach you about things beyond the academic. But not everyone can afford to go to college. Luckily, there are several smaller community colleges found in each state and location. Among the best of these schools includes Itasca Community College in Minnesota.

Global or international education is also an important part of this northern Minnesota community college. Each Fall term, around 20 Danish science and technology students come to ICC until the end of the year. This group spends their first days in the country to visit New York City before going to Grand Rapids where they spend time with their host families. The visiting group also goes on various road trips, which includes trips to the Badlands of South Dakota, a Minnesota Twins professional baseball game and a trip to Duluth, Minnesota. The following spring, ICC then sends over 20 of its students to Svendborg, Denmark. The students will take classes at HTX Svendborg during the spring term. ICC students that are sent to Denmark will receive college credit and they will also have an opportunity to travel around the rest of Europe.
Itasca Community College is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association or the NJCAA. The school has sports teams in men’s basketball, baseball, American football, and wrestling, as well as sports for women including basketball, volleyball and softball.
